Performance and choreography have been a defining aspect of Jools Gilson’s art practice over three decades. Recent dance artist projects include The Vintage (residency with Bebe Miller 2023) and Tempestries (Dance Bursary R&D 2023) both supported by the Arts Council and Science Foundation Ireland. She also wrote text and performed as part of Mary Wycherley’s Weathering (Dance Limerick 2023) and performed live writing as part of Lucia Kickham’s Middle End Beginning (Modes of Capture, Limerick 2022).

 

She was a 2021 Fulbright Scholar at the University of Colorado Boulder where she is did initial R&D for the dance project Tempestries: Textiles, Tactility & the Climate Emergency partly through a choreographic residency at the B2 Center for Media, Arts & Performance at CU Boulder.
